I don't like the frozen meatballs, so I make my own.  I don't remember the amounts, but this is what I put in them.
ground beef
sugar
salt/pepper
onion powder or minced onion
garlic powder or minced garlic
italian bread crumbs
parm. cheese
milk
egg
then I fry them in olive oil till brown on outside and them bake them in the spaghetti sauce for about 1 hour. 
For this recipes sauce I'd use plain bread crumbs in the meatball instead of italian.
