I don't know where to ask this question so I am asking here.
Anyone who uses my work computer can click on history (unless I delete it
every day) and open and go into this site.  How can I keep others out?
If I can't keep them out, can I register under a different name, since I
sign everything with Linda B.

Does the history show your login name? If they can find it, that will not work. Especially if it shows at the top right, "Hello ________________" I wonder if there is a place in settings on windows where you can make it erase your history every time you turn off the computer? I am just very careful what I say, both here and on COT.

I would still like to register under a different name.  I don't post often,
but I would like for just CS to read my postings, just in case I say
something I might regret.

Linda, I moved this to its own thread so it is easier to find. I also sent you a personal message regarding a name change.

But to answer your question, unless they have your login credentials (name/password), they won't be able to access the threads. Most of the forum is private, you have to register to read/view.

I don't know what browser you use, but clearing your history and secured sessions is always a good idea to do when you are using a public computer.

Hope that helps.

Linda, I did some experimenting and if you close your browser and open it again (and come in through history) your id may still be active. Actually logging out before you close the browser seems to solve the problem. Just remember that only about three of the areas are closed to viewers without a login - Prayer and Secretary Desk are two of them. Also, under internet options in IE, general tab, there is a check mark you can put in to have it automatically erase your browser history every time you close the browser.

Our computer guy installed ccleaner(free download) on the computer at work and it erases history. It doesn't save anything. But that means I always have to have my account number or login ID and Passwords to get back on the sites I use. It runs automatically.

I downloaded it at home but I have to start it, I couldn't find the setting for the automatic run. I don't need it as much at home anyway.

When I came to this site tonight I noticed "Church Secretary Club" on my toolbar. It took me to the site and I didn't have to sign in. I'm on my home computer, so it's okay to do that. It may be because I didn't logout last time I was on.

I am actualy regiatered on this site under two different names - one for home and one for work.

If that is a problem, I can drop the work name and only go with the home ID.
