This is something my mother in law does that it delicious and SO simple.
She takes "pork steaks", covers them with sliced onions and ketchup.  That's IT!
Bake it at 350 for a few hours until tender.  (She bakes everything at 350.)

I am going to try this in the crock pot with boneless pork chops...

I have a recipe similar to that.  It is called Company Baked Pork Chops, but you mix the ketchup w/ a little water and little brown sugar and it ends up making a bbq sauce.  Then you serve in on rice.  Very yummy when cooked a long time.

Oooooohhhhh.....my house smelled so wonderful at lunch time!  I added a little brown sugar at that time.  We'll see if it makes a difference in taste at the late stage.  I can't wait for dinner now!!!

Oh my goodness!  I think this was THE BEST meal I have made in a LONG LONG LONG TIME!!!!!  I did add a little brown sugar and cook it a little longer.  Probably longer than I should have, but it was still sooooo yummy.  I served it with rice and corn.  OH MY GOODNESS!  I didn't want to stop eating!  I am already looking forward to lunch tomorrow....for leftovers!!!!

Right!  Especially an easy, crock-pot recipe!  I love simple 5 ingredient or less recipes.  I think I have a cook book of 5 ingredient or less recipes.  I'll have to go check.  My cookbook selection is quite vast.....and yet I never know what to cook for dinner!!!!

It really is!  But, I have to tell you.....make sure you use a good SWEET onion.  My mother made the recipe using boneless porkchops and apparently a very strong onion.  They didn't like it at all.  We believe that.... 1) you MUST use a sweet onion, and 2) don't use boneless chops....be sure to use a pork "steak" or other cut of pork.  I guess boneless chops don't have much flavor to stand on their own?

Anyway....I absolutely LOVE this recipe and could make it every week and be VERY happy!!!!

Please let me know what you think after you try it?!!!

I did this tonight w/California French dressing tonight.  OMgosh! Soo good.  I bought some cheap dressing at the Dollar General the other day and I don't really like it on salad, so I was trying to get rid of it.  I took pork steaks and smothered them in the dressing then peppered it all and sprinkled minced onion all over it.  Covered it and baked it in the oven at 400 for almost 2 hours.  Served it over rice.   Sooo good.

ok - I have been looking for pork steaks and can't find any.  Are they the same as pork chops on the bone?  I'm dying to try this recipe, but the only pork I can find are pork roasts, pork tenderloin, boneless pork chops, or pork chops with the bone.  uhh
