A couple of questions: How do I upload a picture I would like to go under my name? What are the little icons that are listed under our names?

One cup means you are a new member. Two means you are a member (that happens when you post enought times). The online/offline button is self explanitory and will be green if you are online and not hiding your presence. Click on the key to go to your profile. If you put in a website, there will be a globe button that will take you directly to it if you click it. You might have a gender sign (male or female). An envelope shows if there is an email address available. A black music note takes you to send a private message - if it is not black, the person is offline. Private messages are very handy if they did not leave an email address.
To upload a picture, click on the profile link above (or the one on the left) to go to your profile and then click on "Forum Profile Information."

Ok, so I feel stupid but I've looked at this thread and the one titled "avatars" and still can't figure out how to upload my picture. When I go to profile I get a box to check that says I have my own picture, but it seems to need a URL. How do I just upload a picture of myself that I have saved on my computer? Bonnie  |

Bonnie, did you try it today? Yesterday Stotheara fixed it so there is an option to load your picture from your computer, which I was finally able to do.

Bonnie,
Some functions do not work while you are listed as "temp" and maybe that is one of them. After you have posted 7 times, you will become "new member" and should be able to see more icons. Make 4 more posts and then try again - there should be a browse button there that you can use to upload your picture from your computer.

I am just now reading about how to be a member, I had not figured that out yet.....guess I am really slow . Amazing. That is what happens when you don't read directions.  Hopefully I will have this all figured out soon. Needless to say I am new to the site and I am really enjoying the info that I get here. |
