Oh my, my favorite food is the one before me at the time I'm eating.  There is really very little food I don't like and most of it could be considered favorite.  If I had only 1 thing to eat though, I suppose I'd want chocolate but - no, not really.  I'd select something more nutritious.  I've watched Survivor and considered what some of them have "bought" or selected when given choices.  Very interesting.

Favorite food depends on the time of day, time of year, and just what is going on in life at the moment.  That said, the specialties of the house are:
1. bread
2. pizza (with my beloved sourdough pizza dough)
3. BBQ turkey (low & slow & smoked)

Nina:  sounds like you love the chicken salad sandwich at a local place.  The toasted pecans in the chicken salad just make it pop!

Wow, this is another of my favorite topics!  Roll Eyes Unfortunately, I've been having some trouble with carbs lately--need to drastically cut back. In the past my favorite foods always had to include a dough or pasta, such as Italian or Mexican food. That's always the best part of the meal, except of course, for the dessert. That's actually my very best favorite food and I am always looking for a way to use dark chocolate in a recipe that's healthy. I want to figure out how to make a brownie using oatmeal flour or something. And then using agave nectar for the sweetener. I also love peanut butter, eat it every day (the natural kind). At least that's healthy! Yum

I like natural pnut butter too.  I like to eat it on a hot toasted bagle.  It spreads better that way b/c we keep it in the fridge so it doesn't seperate.  But I've noticed that whenever I eat pnut butter I have horrible stomach pain and almost indigestion type issues w/belching etc.  I don't have any allergic reaction like hives or swelling or anything, just upper g.i. issues.  Anyone else get like that?  I just have stopped eating it, but I miss the flavor.  Even Reeses cups or anything w/pnut butter or pnuts to me like that.  I can eat almonds and cashews w/no issues.  I think it is weird.

I love most food, hence my "rotund" profile.  :p

As for the cole slaw...are you referring to cole slaw with a mayonnaise dressing or cole slaw with a vinegar dressing? I prefer cole slaw with a vinegar dressing (some folks refer to it as "pepper slaw") while my husband prefers the creamy, mayonnaise dressing style.

I will share my cole slaw recipes in the recipe section.

Yes!  I have that problem with peanut butter, too!  Well, mine isn't stomach pain....more indigestion, heart burn, upset stomach.  And it doesn't happen EVERY time.  I always have milk with my peanut butter, too, so I'm never sure if my problem is the milk or the peanut butter.  And I LOVE peanut butter, too!

A lot of people have a peanut allergy--maybe that's what is giving you the indigestion?

Nuts (peanuts tend to be a bigger culprit than some other nuts) and seeds (sunflower seeds, celery seeds, etc.) can also trigger episodes of diverticulitis.

Well, I've never thought of it as an allergy.  Everyone I know with nut allergies goes into respiratory distress if they even get NEAR a nut!  I guess it could be that, though.  It doesn't happen all the time with me though.  I go through stages.  And, usually, if I eat it in, say, a PB&J sammy, it doesn't do the same thing.  It's just so strange.

I was just talking with pastor about this the other day.  He has the same problem, sometimes.    Weird!

Well, my dad has diverticulosis and can't eat any nuts or seeds at all--although he is his own worst enemy.  My problems are always upper, not lower.

As to the coleslaw, I like creamy coleslaw. Mayo (or miracle whip), cider vinegar, sugar, salt & pepper ( I use the same dressing for broccoli/cauliflower slaw).  If I am making it as a side dish I cut it course and add celery seed and red cabbage (like Red Lobster slaw).  If I am making it for sandwiches or hot dogs I chop it fine.  I always add carrot.  I like Bob Evans and KFC slaw when I don't want to make it myself, even though it tastes different than mine.
