My 70th birthday party

« on: November 04, 2009, 02:27:54 PM »

OK here is an easy and wonderfully delicious cookie for Christmas.
Oreo cookie balls

Oreo Cookie Balls

1 package Oreo cookies (I use double filling Oreos)
1 (8 ounces) package cream cheese
1 package Almond Bark white chocolate

Put Oreo cookies in food processor, or put them in a lrg zip top bag and roll with a rolling pin, process until real fine. Place crumbs into a bowl and mix with cream cheese. Roll out mixture into marble size balls and place on cookie sheet. Put Oreo Cookie Balls in refrigerator to get cold. Take cookie balls out of refrigerator when cold and dip in melted white chocolate. Put cookie balls on wax paper to dry. I use a long handled 2 prong fork to dip them with. Makes it easier and I am all for easy.
Everyone will want your recipe.

Sounds great.   Do they need to be refrigerated after you dip them?   My grandkids would love them.  Thanks for sharing with us.

we call them reverse Oreo's smile
I loved these when I could eat them:)
We also made them different by adding a tablespoon of PB or using mint Oreo's
we did leave them out a bit but them they needed to go back in the fridge after a while.

I added a recipe and realized it wasn't a cookie so I made a new thread... Somedays I am kinda dippy:)

They are awesome!!  Easy to make and delicious.  I will definitely add this to my collection of Christmas cookies.  When I make them for the holidays I am going to use red and green food coloring in the white chocolate.  I have them in the fridge because of the cream cheese - do I need to do that?  I was going to take them out about an hour ahead of time.  Thanks Nina.   oh yeah  oh yeah

One more update....these were a total hit tonight at church.  It was fun to see people eat them and say to each other "did you try these?  who made them?"  You're right - everyone wanted the receipe.  My son said on the way home that he saw a lot of people leaving with little baggies of "our" cookies.          high5

ok - this is my third post in a row about these cookies.... I made little bags of them for some friends - a group of moms that I met when all of our kids were in elementary school.  We usually drop stuff off on each other's porches on Christmas Eve - usually cookies or a very small, inexpensive gift.  They all went crazy over them, but hardly got any because their kids ate them.  We got together for New Year's Eve so I made some for the party.  When the kids (all teenagers now) saw them, they started taking them, saying "these are Miss Karen's cookies".  My friend whose house we were at had to hide them so the adults could have some!!  It was really funny to see people fighting over them (especially mothers and their children!).  I also made some using milk chocolate and they were good also.  A definite addition to my Christmas cookie list for next year!  Thanks again Nina!   yes
