Well, Nina's spiced tea mix sounded so yummy, I thought I'd share my hot chocolate mix. This recipe was given to me by a friend. It was given to her by a friend....and I don't know how many friends before. I don't know where it originated, but it is the BEST hot chocolate I've ever had! My friend's, friend is the one who name is Liquid Brownies.
25.6 oz box of powdered milk 16 oz jar non dairy powdered creamer 1 box chocolate powdered sugar (I can't always find this in my stores, so I use regular powdered sugar + an extra 1/3 cup Hershey's cocoa.) 26 oz hot chocolate mix (I've used Rich Chocolate and Milk Chocolate. They're both delicious!) 8 oz French Vanilla powdered creamer 1/3 Cup plain Hershey's cocoa.
Mix all ingredients thoroughly in a large container. (I used my huge, 32 cup, Tupperware Thatsa Bowl) I mix it as well as I can with a big spoon, then I put the lid on, making sure it's ON, and SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE.....till my arms get tired. Then I figure it's well mixed.
Use 1/3 Cup mix for each serving. Or more, or less....just use as much as you like! I also like to add a couple drops of mint extract to my cup! SO GOOD!
I've made this with all brand name ingredients and with generic. It makes no difference, so I go with generic now. It is pricey, but it will last a family of 4 an entire winter. And it makes great Christmas gifts. I put it into ziplok baggies and then put that into a nice Christmas print paper bag. Fold over the top, punch a couple holes and tie with ribbon. Then I attach the recipe with a ribbon as well.
I'm sure all of you creative ladies can come up with some even better ideas for sharing! Hope you like it!

That sounds YUMMY - we love hot chocolate at our house all year long. My son is always in the kitchen experimenting with hot chocolate recipes on the can of Hershey's cocoa. Just one question - do you mix it with water or milk? I'm guessing milk, since there is already powdered milk in the mix.

I've always used water, since there's so much powdered milk in the recipe. It's SOOOOO rich and creamy!

Brenda - I made this recipe earlier this evening and it is AWESOME. It made a huge bowl - I used my Tupperware thatsa bowl also and it filled it, so we will have it for a long time. I'm planning to make another batch to use as gifts. I bought some small Christmas cannister type jars at the dollar store, and they had matching cookie containers. I'll make up some gift bags with a cannister of the hot chocolate mix and some homemade cookies. Thanks for the recipe!!

I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Karen. We had our first snow last night, so I guess it's time for me to make a batch as well. My husband doesn't drink coffee or tea. So, when it gets cold, this is what he likes. I love to give it as gifts as well!

Brenda, I made the hot choc mix and gave it to my volunteers in a mug with some hershey kisses. I also took some to Georgia with me for Christmas and they all loved it too. I assume my son really likes it because it is dissapearing fast. I'm not a hot choc drinker but did drink some and it is really good. Thanks

Our Liquid Brownies have held up pretty well this winter - we still have some and we have been drinking a lot of it. I may have to make up another batch soon though! We even drink hot chocolate in the summer, but not as much. The best part is that you mix it with water. We usually use milk with hot chocolate mixes, but this is so rich you don't need to use milk. I usually go through tons of milk just making hot chocolate in the winter, so in the long run this also saves money.

It IS very rich....and you don't need milk because it has so much powdered milk in it! It's so good.....of course, I can't have any right now 'cause of the diabetes! Darn!
