2 c. Sugar
1/2 c. Milk
1/2 c. Butter (do not use a butter substitute)
5 Tbls. Cocoa (the kind you bake with that has no sugar added)

Bring to a full boil, for about a minute or so. Remove from heat & stir in:

1/2 c. Peanut Butter (I use crunchy)
1 tsp. Vanilla
3 c. Oatmeal

Drop cookie mixture on cookie sheet that has been covered by wax paper. Put cookies in refrigerator till solid. It will take quite a long time. I've already waited 6 hours & they aren't totally solid yet.

Thanks Mary. We have a heat index of 110 today so turning on the oven is the last thing I want to do.  Anything "no bake" in the summer, especially cookies, is awesome.   yes

If it is humid it will probably not firm up. I have been making these most of my life and have observed over the years not to make it if the humidity is high or if it has been raining. We love these.

Seriously want to make these now!! I always have those ingredients!
Make sure you let it boil long enough but not too long. I actually put on a timer once it boils for one minute. I had a hard time making these for year so had my MIL walk me through it.

I just made these yesterday and I am eating one right now.  In addition to the oats, Peanut butter & vanilla, I added about a cup of craisins and about a cup of coconut. They are wonderful. Bliss Bliss
